Medicaid plans

New Mexico Turquoise Care

Turquoise Care is the name of New Mexico's Medicaid Managed Care program offered by UnitedHealthcare Community Plan. It’s for children, families, pregnant women and adults who meet income and other eligibility requirements. 

New Mexico Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS)

New Mexico Long Term Services and Supports (LTSS) is a health coverage program for New Mexico residents who meet requirements and are eligible for Medicaid.

LTSS is designed to:

  • Improve quality of life for members of any age who have functional limitations and/or chronic illnesses
  • Support members to live or work in the setting of their choice, including a person's home, worksite, provider-owned or controlled residential setting, a nursing facility, or other institutional setting
  • Provide in-home counseling sessions that focus on solving problems and becoming socially and physically active

Dual Special Needs plans

Dual Special Needs plans (also called Dual Health plans or D-SNPs for short) are for people who have both Medicaid and Medicare. Dual plans cover most doctor visits, hospital stays and prescription drugs. They offer many extra benefits beyond those you get with either Original Medicare or Medicaid.

Individual & Family ACA plans

UnitedHealthcare offers Individual & Family ACA plans in New Mexico. They’re designed to give you the coverage you need without breaking the bank.

Choose from plans in the Bronze, Silver and Gold metal levels. They each come with a variety of benefits, including reliable support from our customer service experts.

Eligibility:

New Mexico Turquoise Care (Medicaid)

Turquoise Care is the Medicaid Managed Care program for New Mexico, offered by UnitedHealthcare Community Plan.

Medicaid is a federal and state health insurance program. It helps people of all ages get quality health care. Medicaid helps support many groups including:

  • Children
  • Families
  • People with low-income
  • Children and adults with disabilities
  • Older adults
  • People diagnosed with substance use disorder

Enrollment:

Open enrollment is open all year which means you can change or keep your health plan from April 1 through May 31.

Benefits and features

Turquoise Rewards

Earn reward points when you complete certain health activities like:

  • An annual checkup with your doctor
  • Getting a flu shot
  • Completing health screenings
  • Keeping up-to-date on your child’s vaccines

Then use these points to shop for fun, healthy items in the catalog.

One Pass

This is a fitness program for members ages 18 and older. We want you to have a fun experience while you get fit.

One Pass includes:

  • Unlimited access to visit local gyms, including the YMCA
  • Online workouts
  • Live virtual classes you can take from the comfort of your home

Maternity support and baby care

We offer extra benefits and services to help you and your baby including: 

  • Car Seats 
  • Transportation 
  • Pregnancy and infant support 
  • Healthy First Steps® (HFS) 
  • BabyScripts 
  • Doula and breastfeeding support 
  • Well-child visits

Behavioral Health services

Behavioral Health screenings are done as needed for diagnosis and treatment. We cover:

  • Individual, group, and family therapy
  • Outpatient and inpatient behavioral health services
  • Inpatient behavioral health services
  • Specialized behavioral health services for children with autism

Transportation

Benefits include round trip transportation to:

  • Doctor and pharmacy visits
  • Food banks and pantries
  • Women, Infants and Children (WIC) appointments
  • Medicaid eligibility meetings
  • Birthing classes

You may also qualify for a bus pass or mileage reimbursement for friends and family.

Traditional healing and alternative treatments

Your yearly reimbursement of $300 for Traditional Healing services includes but is not limited to:

  • Native American Healing and Ceremonies
  • Curandismo Healing

Your provider will need to submit a form to get a reimbursement. Forms can be requested by calling Member Services at 1-877-236-0826, TTY 711.
